"Here we receive the gift of being made one with Christ and partakers of His kingdom."

Welcome to first Lutheran Church, where we partake in the divine mysteries, the cup of blessing which is a participation in the blood of Christ, and the bread that we break which is a participation in the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 10:16). Here we receive the gift of being made one with Christ and partakers of His kingdom.

Understanding koinonia (fellowship) as the church of old did, a participation in the body and a participation in the blood of Christ, we confess that it is through this participation that we are united with Christ and with each other.

As you come to visit our divine service you will be welcomed by people who believe that they are brought together by God through his Holy Spirit, and through the Holy Spirit, God works salvation in us through the preaching of the Word and the administering of the Sacraments.

We, as God’s people, believe that people obtain forgiveness of sins not because of their own merits, but freely for Christ’s sake, through faith in Christ. We honour Christ, and believe that a clear, correct understanding of the entire Holy Scriptures will show the way to the unspeakable treasure and right knowledge of Christ.
